Downtown Development Authority The City of Essexville formed its Downtown Development Authority (DDA) in September 1988 under the authority of Act 197, Public Acts of 1975 PDF. The mission of the DDA is to promote orderly economic growth within the Downtown Development District. The DDA Board members also serve as the City's Brownfield Redevelopment Authority. Since its inception the DDA has participated in the reconstruction of Woodside Avenue, which is the City's principal commercial roadway, purchased several blighted properties downtown for future redevelopment and is presently working on the development of a sixty acre Business/Commerce Park. The DDA sponsors the annual "Kid's Fest", which is held each year in the late summer or fall. Members are appointed to staggered four year terms by the City Manager subject to confirmation by the City Council. Meeting Agendas/Minutes
