Brownfield Redevelopment Authority

 

Under the authority of Michigan Act 381, Public Acts of 1996 PDF the City of Essexville formed its Brownfield Redevelopment Authority ("BRA") on February 10, 1998.  The BRA has the authority to facilitate the implementation of Brownfield plans relating to the designation and treatment of Brownfield redevelopment zones and to promote the revitalization of environmentally distressed areas.  Presently, the BRA has authorized, and received state approval for, one Brownfield Redevelopment Plan for Vitre-Cell, Inc.

 

Under authority of Act 381 the City Council appointed the City of Essexville Downtown Development Authority Board to serve as the BRA.
